Was wondering if anyone had experience with a horse who has allergic bronchitis?? Yes, he's been scoped by an awesome vet and the meds prescribed didn't seem to help any. I am looking for something I might not have heard of to try. Thanks.

Ive put my gelding on Heave Ho per recommendation of my vet. It has really helped him and his coughing. Ive had him scoped and he is a bleeder and we deal with the allergies as well. He has been on it for 2 months now and like I said I can tell it has helped. You can order through amazon.

have you figured out what he Is allergic to? Possibly hay? 99% of the time it is hay, even good quality hay has spores and dust. If so maybe try pulling him off hay and giving him soaked cubes or a complete feed? At the very least soak his hay. Supplements may help diminish symptoms but they don't cure the actual problem... Inflammation caused by Allergies. Best is to figure out what he's allergic to and stop or minimize his exposure to it. I hope you find something to help!

My guy is in need of some help this winter. He came up bleeding in September, and has always been a warm up cougher. It has to be something environmental and not feed because he's done this since 2007/8 when he was broke to ride and my feed changed radically starting in 2013. This winter he is really bad, and usually he gets better after his December-January lay off. We have been EXCESSIVELY WET for the past 12 months. I am sure there are things growing that haven't for many decades here, even in the winter cold. I'd like to find a mild help for him too. I put him on clembuterol many years ago and it helped his lungs but gave him stallion rage so not willing to do that unless it's the only way.
