I recently bought a bag of Nutrena original feed .
I checked the tag when I got it home and it was manufactured in February of 2018. Is it too old to feed? I don't want to open the bag because I will take it back even though the feed store is 50 miles away .... LOL

I had to get into the routine of checking tags when I was buying a feed that wasn’t super popular in our area. I think the feed store folks got tired of me asking them to look in the back for fresher bags - I didn’t care.
Now we feed a much more popular brand and don’t have trouble with freshness because their stock gets rotated more.
I wasn’t even talking about year old feed - frankly they need to just get rid of that and take the loss.

Yep I finally have a great Blue Bonnet dealer close by that keeps their feed rotated. I order my feed thru them and it comes in once a month so I know it's the freshest available. They accidentally sent me home with an older bag, I didnt notice, but before i got home, she called me and told me they sold me a bag older than they are comfortable selling and i could bring it back to be replaced. I'm very happy with them!
