| Matthew 22:37,39. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" You shall love you neighbor as yourself"
When we truly capture the vision of what God wants us to be and do, that vision serves to define our activity, both short term and long term. Many people find it helpful to formulate a one sentence vision statement for their lives. This becomes the lens through which they view their choices and make their decisions. Mine is:
"Live life so those who know you but don't know God will come to know God because they know you."
Churches need such vision statements as well. Another is "a great comment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commmission"
This guidline enables church leaders to keep their ministries moving in the decided upon direction. This vision statement reminds leaders that if someone does not foster loving God, loving others, and leading men and women to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, that activity does not make their priority list. Even as vision brings definition to our lives , to our paths through life, it also defines the decision we need to make along the way. When you know where you are going and how you are going to get there, it brings definition to your life. It defines you task, who you are , and why you are here.
Father God, guide me today and ALWAYS to DO ALL things that will bring GLORY and HONOR TO You AMEN
For it is WITH God ALL things ARE POSSIBLE. Matthew 19:26 |
