She announces her run for POTUS last week, and much of her emphasis is on climate change......all this theater....during a blizzard.
Yesterday, she was being interviewed by Brett Baier on Fox, and asked to chime in on AOC’s “Green New Deal”. She wriggled her way around the uncomfortable idea by describing it as being “aspirational”, rather than a serious proposal.
Yeah, I have to agree with her. It was ”aspirational” alright. It was so “aspirational” that I aspirated my root beer twice. |

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | The fact several ex-employees have come forward stating how difficult she is to work with is - IMHO - a huge red flag. People like that discourage their staff from telling them the truth -- so they end up surrounded by 'yes' people and are insulated from the *real* world. It's one thing to be tough, but another to just be downright mean. These types typically have no compassion. At all. Zero. I agree -- it is going to be entertaining to see how long her ship stays on course -- afloat. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I still swear AOC is actually a Republican plant. She has to be. I can’t explain her stupidity any other way. I mean consider the timing:
She proposed a “Green New Deal” last week, in which her stated goal is to replace most gas powered cars and planes with “high speed rail” within 10 years....TEN.
Then, less than a week later, fellow progressive California Governor Gavin Newsome comes out to begrudgingly announce that a 500 mile high speed rail between SF and LA has to be sh!t canned, because the estimated cost has gone from $58 to $77 Billion. They’ve spent about $10 Billion so far.....all for nothing.....down the drain.
We have 140,000 miles of railway in the US. The cost of 500 miles is $77 Billion. Extrapolate and run the numbers. Even if they trim the budget down to $50 Billion for every 500 miles, that’s $100 Billion for 1000 miles....$1 Trillion for 10,000 miles.....$14 Trillion for 140,000 miles. If you consider the 22,000 of existing passenger rail miles, it’s more of a bargain: $2.2 Trillion. Of course, if her goal is to make air travel obsolete then the existing miles of track will need to be greatly expanded. Keep in mind, I’m using a very low cost, compared to California’s cost (50 vs 77 B).
Meanwhile fellow progressive Senator Mazie Hirono will have to take a boat to and from Hawaii. |

An article came out today that she is renting an apartment in one of the most expendive areas of DC and her staff drive combustible engine cars. |

Location: Kansas | aspirational....having or characterized by aspirations to achieve prestige or material success. Hit the nail on the AOC head there and it would also apply to the shameful conduct of Omar and her counterpart neither of which belong in Congress. If that's racist, count me in. I hate that I'm helping to pay their salaries.

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | In Oregon we have an area that gets a lot of wind. They have a bunch of these critters all over up there. They sit idle more than they work. Now we find out they are terribly inefficient. Just like solar panels. Read up sometime on what goes on in the making of the huge batteries for cars. PLUS windmills and solar panels are bird killers like no other. Where are the animal activists when we need them??
"AOC" - Another odd Commie and Crazy Bernie want 335,000 of these "Carbon gobblers" on shore and 154,000 off shore. The LAND AREA required to install these "carbon gobblers" is 350,000 square miles or TWICE the size of California. That's not even counting the ADDITIONAL land area required for "Photovoltaic systems" which is equal to the size of TEXAS. Yeah, that'll work! Reject stupidity and #WalkAway from the Democrat party. https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/01/green-new-deal-renewable-ener...

| I think she may be a contender. I was impressed at how she handled her questioning of Kavanaugh. She asked him questions I wanted answered. I was on the fence during his hearing. If she is really a middle of the road/ blue collar Democrat she would stand out. The party has gone so crazy left that an old style Dem would be appealing to a lot of the more rational voters. As for her being too tough, I am not afraid of that either. Trump is not an easy boss. That's one of the things I like about him. The fact she is in Minnesota which has gone so far left in their elections I think could play in her favor IF she acknowledges the damage those kinds of politician's have created. I look forward to watching her. I know very little about her though, so I could change my opinion quickly. |

Why don't they all stay home and skype? That would really be efficient and conserve resources. |

| As for the wind farms listed above... Don't even get me started. When I drove up 35 going through the Arbuckle's I was aghast to see those ugly things destroying that once beautiful horizon. It would be interesting to find out who & how much was made on that pollution. You KNOW those things are lining someone's pockets with way too much of our tax dollars. Talk about a huge waste of resources.... money AND our precious, once beautiful land. |

The area I'm talking about is called "The Gorge' by us locals. The Columbia Gorge is the proper name. There have been HUGE legal battles over people wanting to build a home on the sides of the gorge but they put up these monstrosities and THAT's OK? If they do ever get taken down, guess who will have to pay for the demo and disposal?? If you guessed the taxpayers, you're probably right. In fact. we probably paid for them in the first place through our already high utility costs. AND it's not like we don't already have a perfectly good electricity generating DAM a few miles away that is all paid for and generates enough electricity to provide a lot of west coast. But the animal activists (AA) want to tear it down so the salmon (protected species) don't have to go up a ladder to get to spawning areas above the dam. Before the salmon go up the ladder they have to get past the sea lions (protected species). The sea lions decimate the salmon. It's like shooting fish in a barrel (sick pun). You just can't EFFING make this sh*t up. |
