I think the Cowboy Channel is 603 on DirectTV.

It is exciting! One that we raised is running as well. Creditthefirefighter with Debbie Pate. I wanted to go down for the slack but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

But only if you pay extra for it...........

I pay so much anyway and they raised their fees.  Dirty robbers.

Nope not paying exra, I've always had it, I'm guessing its in the pakage that we have with dish, but yept I agree, dish is not cheap, need to move to another company but dont want to lose AMC.. I would think since HBO and Cinemax removed their channels you would think Dish would be cheaper now.

How many go back to the performances?

From what I can find, 30, plus 4 from the buy backs.  But somewhere said 50....So I'm a little confused.

They are taking 36 to the performances. Not sure about the buy back

I think the # of buybacks they take depends on how many there are. I heard a maximum of 3 

Never have seen so many hit cans in the slack.

I heard for every 50 runs, 1 person can advance to the short go rounds.

Are the breakaway results posted anywhere from the 1st slack? There were alot of turnouts! 

They have them on the RFD- The American FB page. 

It is a tough, small, pen and unless you have a horse used to running in that type of set up, they won’t stretch out and get by the barrels.   Add that in with the nerves of knowing you have to have go for it and have your best run ever.  Almost 1/2 of the top 35 are from Texas or Oklahoma and get to enter at FT Worth.   Hats off to everyone for having the guts to step up and try.

It's the top 10 from the Semi's that make it to the final round correct?  Is the Exemption pulled from the Semi's or is it pulled from the original list of qualifiers? Or some random person they pick? 

Usually, the exemption is a person picked by the American committee to compete as an additional entry.

Yes, it is the top 10 that go on to compete at ATT stadium this weekend.   The exemption is not from those who qualified, it is who they pick. Charmayne was it the first year. 

Did anyone listen to Craig's interview? He is such a class act!!!!

IDK, if they do they have not announced it yet.  I saw on their FB page a lot of posts asking them to pick Jimmy Bryant (?)- the guy who made the semis the last couple of years and was riding and donating his winnings to sick  children. 

I dont recall there being one last year??

I am confused too. I taped the shootout, but it didn’t tape the Finals. 

I thought the Final 4 ran after the 8.

They did but the show ran over the time stated in the "guides". They are running an encore on the Cowboy Channel right now.

Well, we recorded it today, but it stopped after 2.5 hours, so we missed the shootout.  I should have known better. I hope someone posts a link showing it tomorrow.  

I caught I just in time to record the shows scheduled after the American- still missed the first couple of events- I really wanted to see the tie down 

I keep hoping the American will eventually figure out what the rules they want are and will stop making them up as they go. You’d think after 6 years...they’d have figured it out. It’s awful that they scheduled over Houston and caused some great contestants to have to choose. 

Ive also never heard of a rodeo of that caliber waiving the mark out rule. Crazy.

eta- another one was that the long go paid out in some events, but not others. Yet the PRCA website said a percentage would be paid. But since no number was given, it didn’t. 

The American is growing and changing!  We need to always check the venue and read the rules.

The American production is a huge event.  It has huge expenses to bring it.  It can make dreams realistic and be heartbreaking too.  The Sky Hawk system at the AT&T was awesome with eyes everywhere.  We had awesome views!   I held my breath as Hailey's 3rd barrel tilted on edge.  What a view from my home!  To use that camera system and the people to run it is an expense.

The American is Awesome for a goal or to just watch!

I don’t like not knowing the rules, I didn’t like there was only on exemption, although I was really glad Cody Wright did so well. I hated some of the angles they showed on TV, and I am done with the Brazilians soaking their bulls and getting rerides without ever leaving the chute. The bull riding took too long and I quit watching it. I am not too far from just not watching at all.

The money is great for rodeo, I love that and the qualifiers are awesome and adding the Breakaway was awesome! Those ladies were so appreciative and classy! I hope they are included next year and get to compete for the million like the other events. 

The Brazilians have ruined a lot of good bulls over the years doing that crap. Didn’t the PBR put a stop to that? I’d be a total Hell B!tch if I owned bulls. 

So the soaking bulls thing is still going on? I thought that they put a stop to this a while back. I dont watch much any more so I thought the soaking thing had ended. 

The PBR put a stop to it. But who knows about the American? They waived the mark out rule in the broncs  so I doubt they care a lot about soaking those bulls. 

I didnt watch any of the American, did they waived the mark out rules for all the riders ? Why would they do that anyway. 

Question about the payout.  So I know the winners won 100,000 with $50,000 going towards WPRA standings.  I see they are paying the top 4 money this year does that money count towards the standings?  So would the money Kylie & Amberleigh won count for them too?

Money doesn’t count for WPRA standings. It only counts  for the PRCA standings. WPRA doesn’t allow men to compete. If they count the earnings in the WPRA standings, they will open themselves up to a HUGE lawsuit since the American is run under BBR rules that allow anyone to compete.

Lol, if we still had bulls, there would be a lot of Brazilians running around with hotshot marks on them. My dad had a way of doing that to anyone abusing the stock. The Brazilians would have been run off. 

We watch PBR every weekend, and I just nearly have a fit sometimes watching how some of the Brazilians do.  Silvano Alves being the worst in my opinion . They do put them on the clock eventually, but sometimes they give them WAY too much leeway in just sitting there playing with their bull rope, rocking back and forth on the bull, moving their legs, etc.   It's almost like, if you don't want to ride, why are you there?   I hope that's not offensive, just my opinion. . . . 

Not offensive at all! I was thinking the same thing during the 8 man round . Then he came off his re ride bull in 2 jumps. The guy In the arena Russ, was really put out with the Brazilians, too. I wonder if he’ll be back next year. 

Danielle Campbell was a not so colorful color commentator...she was much better by Sunday but Saturday night it was like listening to paint dry...

I thought Danyelle did a great job!!! It a fast paced type of deal, and no easy task. Maybe you could do better???
