Is anyone aware of any reputable groups who provide PTSD therapy using horses in northeast Kansas? My friend is not a veteran or involved in emergency services. Any info is appreciated!

I am not from Kansas, so I cannot tell you about any facilities. However, you may want to google Equine Assisted Therapy in Kansas and see what you come up with. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of facilities out there that offer these types of services, and I really wish that was not the case. You need specific trainers that are also very knowledgeable in social work and PTSD, teamed up with the training it takes to teach a veteran home to connect and cope with the help of a horse. I have seen it done only a few times but man, it is a magical thing when a horse joins up with a veteran and the veteran just leans into the horse's neck and cries quietly into their mane.

I hope you find what you are looking for!
