Thinking of relocating....Looking into Tulsa area.  Tired of all this cold weather up here in IL, and politics!  Can anyone tell me how the cost of living is out there?  Hay prices, good performance vets, property taxes, etc

Im in south central OK and Cost of living here is pretty reasonable, compairable to up north I think.  Good hay is pretty easy to come by and there are some GREAT horse vets down here.  Property taxes and all that are compairable.  Good jobs down here for northern folks usually too

It is still cold though.  :)  Maybe not as long, but it gets cold.

Plenty of Vet choices, hay, jobs, barrel races, and property.

I love it here.

I know you guys still see snow, cold etc!! But not like here, it was -10 this morning with wind blowing 40 mph!! Yeah i've had enough!  Plus this state is sinking fast!!

Too much taxes, all the roads are falling apart. The weather is icing on the cake.  I am a CT Tech, so I need to be near a hospital.  Tulsa looks nice, and I like it to be greener, not much for the desert or dry conditions. My husband team ropes and I barrel race.  I know there's plenty out there.  Also looking for good schools. I have a 5 and 6 year old.

I live an hour & a half south of Tulsa. I love tulsa. Go there alot to shop, etc. When it's time for hubby to retire, we are looking to move somewhere outside of tulsa.

Move outside of Tulsa, towards Stillwater.  Or in Osage county.  Sand Springs, etc.  All nice places to be..

I live in Osage county outside of Tulsa and I love it here! IIhave been here almost 9 years. There are several good vets in the area, always seems like there is a barrel race to go to, and it's hard to beat the cost of living here.

I live south of Tulsa, GREAT barrel racing area. Somewhere to go run just about every night of the week, if you want. Hay isnt outrageous, can be harder to find good alfalfa but alot of people get it trucked in. Lots of vet choices.  Cheap property, in comparison to other places.
