So please every time you do get in your car or truck please buckle up.. We almost lost a family member this morning, my granddaughters momma had a serious accident this morning on her way to work to Gonzales from Seguin, she rolled her truck 5 times, she was so lucky, the road was wet and it was super foggy, she will be ok, such a stressfull morning.. Thank God she had her seat belt on

I agree!! Seat belt and airbag are the only reason I still have my mom. She was hit head on July will be 20 years ago by a drunk driver just down the road from where we live now. Long story short to this day she has trouble with her back, she has trouble with her knees, she gets lung infections easier cause of the damage to her hubs, she has a steel plate on her clavicle, and she still has glass in her head. But she is still here and I still have her and we are so very thankful and always buckle our seatbelts no matter how far we’re going.

That and it’s state law in TX too lol.

I am so glad your family member walked away from that!!! I 110% agree that seat belts save lives as one saved mine!! I had a seizure behind the wheel about 8 years ago now and crossed the yellow line, hit someone head on. Just so happens that a cop turned on a side road in front of me and heard the collision. He was there seconds later. Luckily both of us walked away and actually wound up knowing the gal I hit. She crawled out of her car not using her legs and I can honestly say, at that moment, I thought I had ruined someone elses life. That feeling will never leave me and I am forever grateful that she wound up walking out of the hospital that same day. I had a collapsed lung and needed a chest tube but had it not been for us having our seat belts on, we would both be dead.

Prayers for a quick recovery

I'm glad everyone here had things turn out ok.

My dad was in a head on and survived with hardly a scratch.  Unfortunately, the other fellow did not.  I was 14-16 or so at the time and I don't know if he had on a seatbelt or not, but it was a little truck (Like an S-10) vs a full size Dodge truck.

In 8th grade, my friend wasn't so lucky, and he was wearing his seat belt.  His brother (driver) was hit from behind on their way to school, the car was pushed sideways into oncoming traffic.  They were t-boned and the seatbelt cut his diaphram in 1/2.

I always wear my seatbelt, even when it's uncomfortable.  I do take off my heavy winter coat so that the seatbelt fits properly.  I'd rather have it than not. My friend's deal was quite a-typical.

Thank God she is okay. I can't imagine how scary that was for her.

When I started dating my now husband, he never wore a seatbelt. I hounded and hounded him and now he wears it regularly. He too lost control and went off the road and hit a very large tree. No doubt in his mind he would've gone through the windsheild if he hadn't been wearing a seatbelt.

I can attest to seat belts saving lives.  I see the aftermath of accidents frequently and the people who weren't wearing a seat belt don't typically fare well.

My son talked to Kayla a little today about the accident when he took Sterling to her, and she was telling him that after the truck finally stoped rolling, there was nobody around or that no body could see her because the fog was so thick, the truck was laying on its side against a big tree and she was still buckled in but she was hanging in a weird way, she found her phone and called 911 and then her boyfriend and about 10 15 mins later a man saw her and kicked out what was left of the windshild and got her out and sit her on the ground and stayed with her untill help got there, she was in the middle of no where, no houses around, poor baby, took about 20 mins befor they all got there.. Man my heart ached for her, shes a tough cookie
