I just talked with a few friends about this. When I was shopping I searched both facebook and BHW. Facebook is nice because its free, but we thought it has a higher instance of tire kickers. More people on facebook are bored and not really shopping. You'll see a lot of commenting from people saying "I wish" "let me win the lotto" or whatever, with no intent of buying the horse. So then you as the seller have to deal with that & the notifications. A lot of people tagging each other, etc. But at the same time I think you have a much bigger audience and more people will see your ad. The horse I ended up buying last was advertised on both facebook and BHW, but I found the ad first on BHW. BHW makes it easier to search for specific horses and states, whereas facebook it's a lot of just scrolling until you find one that piques your interest. So I think there's definitely advatages and disadvatages to both. I just think given all the extra comments and things, facebook can kind of drive sellers a bit nuts with notifications, but there's probably a much larger pool of buyers as well. Not a lot of people I know come to BHW anymore after everyone started listing on facebook

I found that Facebook brought lots of people wasting my time and asking me questions that had already be answered or people wanting to trade etc... I had a nice kids horse listed and someone offered to trade me three unregistered unbroke yearlings, when I said no thank you I got called every dirty name possible!!

Oh I agree. Have not sold a horse on FB, but listed a 2500.00 saddle and was offered a 110.00 tack set for trade. When I said no I was called a few names as well.
