I recently switched from Total Equine to feeding Renew Gold, Alfalfa pellets, a little bit of oats, and a cup of Purina Outlast. Do I need to add vitamins/minerals? if so which ones?

I also switched from Total Equine recently to just Renew Gold Senior. I give 4 or 6 cups a day depending on the horse, and if I need to add things like powdered bute or omeprazole I soak some alfalfa cubes. Other than that I give biotin to two with feet issues and salt in the winter. So far every thing has been good and I’m really happy with the switch!

Renew Gold will have you covered on vitains as long as your hay quality is good. If hay is poor, you are better off to buy better hay rather than any other supplementation. As to minerals, make sure salt is always available. I use Redmond. If you live in a region that has a specific mineral defeciency, like selenium, that should be addressed. Otherwise, you would be good to go.
