Renew Gold changes .... can anyone tell me why renew gold has a different texture? My horses will not eat it! I have made several calls to company and was told that someone would call me back to explain the changes but have not heard back.

I stopped at my TSC store and got a bag of the Renew Gold that has the new extruded technology on it.  Have not tried it so I am hoping all my horses will still like it.

I stopped at my TSC store yesterday to get a bag of Renew Gold and the new extruded Renew Gold was out.  I have not tried it yet so hoping my 3 eats it OK.  I have my 30 year old on the Renew Gold but have not tried the new extruded yet.  Here is a picture of him.

He said in an above post that he is OUT OF THE OFFICE. So probably can't access the answering machine. He is extremely responsive to calls so if you send him your number like he asked, I'm sure he will get back to you right away. You can even do a google search " Winwillows phone number barrel horse world" and it will bring up several threads where he listed his cell phone number. Thats how I got it, called and he answered right away.

I'm curious if the bags are different with the new formula? And is the price the same as the original formula ? I was in my tsc this weekend and was looking to see if they carried it but I just saw the original RG bag and the SR.

Bags are the same!! There is a RED star/sticker on the front that says " New formula" or something like that. Mine had a manufacture date of 2/19.

Started our crew on it this weekend and they dug right in like always. No issues whatsoever.

I have one horse out of 4 that doesn't like it.  I added oats to it to see if he'd eat it.  He picks the oats out and leaves the RG :

I had a good conversation with the OP. Horses are eating the new form. Just slower to begin with. That is fine. She has a nice feeding program.

Just to be clear. There is absolutely no change in ingredients or ratios of those ingredients. The change is in the process of forming the pellets. There is a different mouth feel of those pellets that some horses take time to get accustomed to. Digestibility is improved. Waste is eliminated.

I havent had a problem and I'm on my second bag of the new formula. I have a mare that can sense if anything is different and refuses to eat. She never missed a beat with the RG.

Good to know, thank you!

I never imagined my mare was so picky, lol.  I thought she had finally started to eat it, then realized she has it spit out all over her stall.

I took a brief break from it when I was feeding a complete grain, now that I've switched horses to a RB and alfalfa cubes, I added a small amount of the new rg back in.. my horses ate it right up, no problem.

Thank you!

I was deciding if I was going to change my feeding program a bit anyway.  I'm considering either Bluebonnet Intisify Omega Force or Total Equine. Bluebonnet is pretty hard to find, but I like the sound of it. Not sure on the Total Equine.

Between those 2, I'd definitely go with bluebonnet omega force if at all possible.
