So, after going to a 3 day barrel race this past weekend, we are looking at selling our 2 horse bumper pull with dressing room and getting a 3 horse with living quarters.

Has a toilet, two burner stove top, microwave, sink, bed, heat/ac, awning..and a cowboy shower. To those of you who have a cowboy shower in the horse area, what are your thoughts? I have never had a LQ trailer, and this one seems to be very reasonably priced..but I don't know how I will like the cowboy shower? Could anyone post a picture of theirs? We are going to look at the trailer this week, but have seen some pictures of it. No shower curtain around it, but I'm assuming my husband can put one in.

Also, having a hard time pricing our current trailer. I'm not selling in on here, but will be posting it on FB. Is there a KBB for horse trailers I can look at to help price mine?

Thanks!

I had one in my very first trailer. It wasn't all that bad but you better be a fare weather camper! If you strip down in winter it can be a little crazy curtain or no curtain. Mine was built into the top of the front horse stall on the tail end of the horse. Hope that helps!

Thank you! This one is at the front corner of the trailer. We won't be trailering in the winter (maybe one or two times, at most) so it will be used for 3 seasons. Did you use a rubbermaid tub to stand in?

I’ve never had one...I’d be more apt I think to look for the shower/toilet combo over a cowboy shower, but that’s just me.

as for value on both the one your selling and making sure you’re getting a good deal on the new one - a lot of browsing Facebook and HorseTrailerWorld.com to make sure prices are in line with other trailers out there.  That’s about it.

I had a cowboy shower in my last trailer.  I hated having to use it because I felt like I was having a shower in public for the most part.  I have a shower in the bathroom in this trailer and love it.  When you've been at a 3 day show and your tired and dirty, it sure is nice to have!

I had one in my first LQ's trailer, located on the butt side of the first stall, and it was nice to have it when I needed one.  It was nice not to have to clean it, LOL!  I only used it in the summer months, and it was still WAY cleaner than most grounds showers (especially when you have small children to shower.  I had a slotted wood mat to stand on after I swept out the stall, and there was a few drain holes in the floor.  I hung quilts or towels up over my windows for privacy, but you'd have to be dang tall to have seen in anyway...

Do the facilities you're staying at have showers? We have a full bathroom in our LQ with a nice shower, and I can honestly say I probably only use it 3 times a year. It's just so much easier to go use the showers at the facilities versus wait for the dang water to heat up LOL

Spontaneous shower taker?  I know I like to shower before I go to bed...so sometime around dinner/chore time or just before I run if it’s an evening race I flip the water heater on... getting in that habit still seems far easier than collecting all my stuff to go up to the facilities showers and then realizing I forgot a razor or my clean underwear.  Before I had a shower in my trailer I ended up taking cold showers at the facilities for the most part.  Seems I was always too late for the hot water.
