Hello, I have a finished barre horse that Im trying to sell, but I dont know how much to price him at. Here is some info on him APHA 13 years old Has ran in 1D/2D Has ran in Pro rodoes Safe for to ride, but due to his size and power, I would say intermediate to experince would be best. UTD on everything Just passed a lameness exam Not spooky Here is thing though, I dont have any stats on him. I have only owned for two, now coming up to three months. I have not had time to enter him. Hence why he is for sale. Also, I dont click with him as much as my mare. He needs to be someone's number one. At one point he was priced at 15K, the lady I bought him from sold him to me a steal of a price. I bought him for 5K, but he had been off since October. I have been riding him when the weather is nice to leg him back up. So how much would price this horse at?

Credentials, breeding along with great conformation and/ or pricing sells horses. Horses that are actively competing sell better regardless of what division they run in. User friendly horses are always good sellers. Although legit pro horses with quirks sell because pro riders tend to be able to handle the quirks if they win. Enter your horse and see where he clocks. If you don't find him send him to someone who does. Hope this helps! :)

| Do you have stats/videos from previous owner? (with permission to use them?) Potential buyers will want these. It will be a hard sell without them. Also important : how long ago he was running at the 1d/2d level and against who. Rodeo experience is a plus. The area you are selling in also is something to take into account. Is he pretty? If so, also a plus. I think to get the most money for him, you may look into sending him to someone to leg up and run/advertise. This also provides you with current stats. It is hard to give a definite number based on only the information provided. Pics? Good photos and a well written ad also help.

I agree with the suggestion above about having someone leg him up and run him. I would want to know how current the stats. A good friend of mine has a similar gelding and wejust had this conversation. As is, I wouldnt pay much more than $3500 for her gelding. I would say with a current horse with earning even in the 2d/3d, legged up and tuned at that age - $7500 give or take. Now consistent proof of earnings in 1d/2d then I would consider a little more. A lot of value to me depends on how they are to run.

When I see posts like this , usually means someone wants free advertising and not have to buy an ad. Lots of inconsistencies in this story. Horse was priced at 15k but someone let the horse go for 5k??? I can see negotiating some but to sell for 30% of original asking price makes no sense.

Im not looking for free advisement. I truely do not know what to price this horse at. Three years ago he was priced at 15K, I found his ad through Facebook. The lady said since he had been off in winter she was willingly to let him go for at 5K, but once spring came around and she got him shape, his price was going to go up.

I could ask $500,000 for one, doesnt mean thats what it will sell for or if its a fair market price. Ive got a daughter of a NFR stallion, 1D proven with stats and videos, 300+ Horses, APHA mare for sale who Is younger than your guy whom I cant get anyone to look at for 20k. Shes run with and has outrun the best horses in our state plus some that have sold for double what I am asking. You paid 5k so thats what he is currently worth without proof of performance. I googled him. Didnt see any results. Found a 2016 video. Worked pretty decent 3 yrs ago but lots can change in 3 yrs. Makes a buyer wonder why someone came down 10k. when there is nothing current to show.

He is bred pretty nice. He looks to be built well. I think a lot of price variation depending on how he runs. Any videos of him running?

So you didn't run him at a Tri K barrel race at the Lazy D on 2/19? He is listed in the results.. He is pretty! Cool papers too. I see that he was sold in the Triangle sale last fall. In that ad it suggest he needs an experienced rider. Considering all of these factors the best advice I can give you is basically the same as I gave earlier.. to send him to somone handy and reputable to get videos/enter him and get up to date stats. This will allow you to price him most effectively.
