My two year old is soon going to a trainer to get broke for 60 days.  I’m looking for recommendations for supplements to add to her feed for boosting her immune system and also one for prevention of gut issues.  The person that’s going to work with her feeds a different feed than I do.  Would you send your own to keep her on the same?

I would use something like platinum GI. Has everything they need in 1 scoop. Including  GI support.

I'd first make sure the trainer is willing to actually feed your horse the extra supplements. I'd probably send my own feed. Our trainer, he doesn't believe in any "fluff " with supplements. He straight up told me one time when owners send all "these junky supplements " I sometimes give them, and sometimes I dont... mostly don't. So when I sent a horse to him, I bagged all the feed individually and added my supplements so he had no choice to feed them because they were already mixed in. All he had to do was dump the gallon bag into the feeder. Such a pain and I hate that hes like that, but hes always been anti supplement.

Good feed and some Forco, should be enough.

Good feed, good alfalfa and you should be fine. More importantly when sending off any horse for training spend some time getting them in shape. Round pen them for a while so when you drop them off they are not as sore after a week.

I used to get horses in that were fat, out of shape pigs and I couldn't work as hard as if they were in shape and ready to go.

Platinum Performance. The GI is not a bad idea

Immune support begins in the gut - if your horse is overall already healthy I wouldn't worry about supplementing for immunity and just supplement for any susceptibility to gastric issuses.

My personal favorites (and I send with any colt going into training) is MVP Gastro-Plex or Forco is another great option.

Since you can send your own feed I would do that and something simple like Calf manna, Boost'em or just Forco like others have pointed out or what ever supplement you have the colt on now, but if you do have to do a supplement ask your trainer if they are willing to add it, sometimes the trainers dont like having to do this a few of the ones that I knew anyways.
