We are currently renting and my horses do not have any shelter.  We are planning to build Lean To's on skids so we can move them.

My husband is handy so he probably already has the vision in his head of what he is building but...  show me yours, may give us some other ideas.

Several years ago my husband found a load of square steel tubing at the local scrap yard.  It was enough to build the frame for ours, our father in law’s, and I think the guys who helped build them each have one.

They are 20x8-10 deep.  Tinned on the outside and roof.  Portable technically but very heavy.

consider the wind.  Ours have 3’ basically railroad spikes securing them to the ground and then our pipe fence is attached to ours as well.  My father in laws is in the middle of his pasture, just secured with the spikes, and it’s flipped a few times in the past few years during severe storms.  His horses don’t use it much and I wonder if that’s why.  I much prefer ours also being secured to the fence for added security.
