What do y’all do for gut health all around? I’ve done Omeprazole for a while then I switched to something else and it obviously didn’t work cause my mare got so bad she went off her feed. Just finished omeprazole/ranitidine for 30 days then did succeed VF for another 30 days. She finally started eating again about half way through om/rant but wasn’t excited about it and wouldn’t finish her food if I exercised her so vet had me do succeed VF. She’s a whole new horse! Loves people, sweet, calmer (still coo coo for Cocoa Puffs at times), 

So now that she feels good, I wanna keep her that way. What do y’all use for fore gut and hind gut health?

I'm about 45 days into Succeed VF and am going to stick with it as long as I can. Mine relapeses several times a year so I'm hoping Succeed does the trick this time!

If I suspect any type of GI issue anywhere in the system, I go back to basics on feeding. SOme horses just can't handle soy or molasses of any amount. Haven't had many, but I have had a few that just seemed sensitive so I pull all supplemnts, grain, everything but mixed alfalfa/Grass hay and give it couple weeks. Then add one thing at a time that the really must have and see what works. Right now mine are on unlimited grass/alfalfa mixed hay, 1 pound Renew Gold and Forco. Thats it.. ANd both of mine are happy campers at the monent. All my joint support is given with a needle, feed throughs with MSM can be irritating to the GI tract. 

I've heard alfalfa is good for ulcer prevention, going forward. I'd try alfalfa cubes or hay and maybe a good gut conditioner, like Forco or Fastrack. I use Fastrack on my old guy who tends to get diarrhea if turned out too much on grass..  it clears him up almost immediately. I started on fastrack because my feedstore has it in stock and forco I have to have shipped to me. It's just a convenience thing.. forco is an excellent product as well. 

I give both my mares Zesterra at a barrel race.

my 13 yr old mare has had a ugly battle w ulcers. And when a friend suggested U7 it has seemed to stop. 

It gets to front n hind gut. 

alfafa cubes soaked 2x day. 1/2 scoop dry add water makes 1 scoop.

i put the U-7 n the wet alfalfa. It stinks :•}
