Both my horses get alfalfa and Timothy hay. My vet said my mare was perfect but my gelding is to fat. Lol I tried Teff and I can’t get them to eat it. My Timothy is 31.00 a bale!!!!! I am not a fan of Bermuda and I heard orchard is to sugary. I have no idea. Those are my choices. Maybe reduce the fatty renew gold to half pound a day. Lol

Better teff grass! Lol Kept in a slow feed hay net, not just thrown in a feeder. And, only ONE flake of alfalfa a day.

Id honestly take him off any fat, like renew gold and feed a light feed or ration balancer fed along with grass hay.
