My horse overheated at a show this weekend - I had to scratch before I even tried to warm up.

We hosed him for a while with cold water and then my friend had Mane & Tail Mineral Ice liniment with her. We put it on his legs and stuck him in front of a fan and he recovered very quickly.

I ordered some of that Mineral Ice but I’m curious to see what others use.

Same horse stopped sweatibg last year. We have that u see control with One AC but he clearly doesn’t tolerate heat very well.

I dont know about keeping them cool but I like to use Cool Down wash by absorbine during the hot summer months after riding. Smells so good!

I use Absorbine Cooldown. It smells good, but I don’t think it cools my horse down as much as the Mineral Ice. It is nice for after normal rides when my horse isn’t overheated

I’m in Georgia where it’s hot AND humid....

The mineral ice doesn’t burn or irritate?....like if it was used after exh and then the horse is resaddled and booted to run?

That I don’t know.

But i read a ton of reviews and saw nothing aling those lines. I saw a lot of people use it on themselves - I don’t know if that makes a difference. I’m going to start using it this weekend and I’ll post if there are any problems with it!

I have the CoolAid tendon wraps. They are awesome.

I don't have any experience with the blanket though.
