Subject: Uncomfortable Backing

100

I have a 7 year old mare coming back into work after about a year and a half plus off due to my schedule. I have just started back with ground work and have noticed she will kind of mash or grind her teeth almost but more like a side to side open mouth and stretching her neck down when asked to back up. She does it close to every time she is asked to back and it is just in a rope halter. It's especially weird because it is almost the same release response she has been doing chiro and body work.

Anyone have any experience with something like this? I didn't have any success on Goggle. It makes me think something is sore but I am not really sure if it's just an issue she needs to get back into shape or needs a chiro or a vet check. It's a 3 hour drive one way to a lameness vet so I just wanted some insight before I jump the gun.
