I haven't tried it yet, but I did just pick up a jar last week because I actually remembered to grab it when I was at Walmart. I saw this on Facebook  singing it praises of how well it works for their manes and tails. It was only a few bucks so if it doesnt work good, no loss. I'm going to try it tomorrow after I ride and bathe them! It smells heavenly tho!

You do you, just don't expect us to embrace your politically incorrect self.  (Seriously, you said it nicer than what I was thinking. . . I come from the pre-PC days of slathering yourself liberally with Afro Sheen and laying out to bake in the mid day sun tho.)

I haven't tried it just yet but it looks like a little goes a long way! I have 1 horse who has thin scraggly mane and another horse who has a full gorgeous long mane that needs to stay in a braid. Both tails definitely could use some extra love. I'll probably wash and condition both then add this leave in then braid loosely. Hopefully wont attract too much dirt and dust , both horses have white manes and tails

Ok I tried this today and I love it! Next time im town I'm definitely getting another jar. It smells so good and leaves no oily residue AT ALL on the hair or your hands after using it. Which is surprising because it's really creamy lol! I can still smell it on my hands. . I'm seriously thinking of trying this stuff on my own hair! It detangled my horses tail after a bath immediately and left it super soft.

Glycerin - can be found in the ethnic section of Walmart. It is a couple dollars and lasts awhile. I drench all my tails in it everytime I rebraid. If you vet wrap or tail boot them they are often still silky when you undo them.

IMO a good hair coat, mane and tail are supported by a solid deworming program and great nutrition. Coat conditioners, etc., are good, but nutrition gives you good hair in the long run.

Maybe I need to try this, my horse swishes his tail more and seems to break it more if braided...like pops the rubber bands, flings black tape out, you name it...I wash and condition it routinely and his mom has a super long main and tail...like I have to pull the tail up every other month or so...but he took after his dad of course...

I just watched the RE episode about Jessie Telford, and she showed how to do knots to help their tails grow long. . . Never saw that before.

Anybody used the product long enough to know if it helps with actual growth of a tail?....I assume it would help with breakage atleast.....

That is what I use, but I get it in a bottle form., more of a lotion. I have 2 mares that I promise if I don't brush their manes out every day it's dreadlock city in the worst way.

Sorry I should have typed it out!   She did like 5 or 6 knots below the tail bone, but she called it a certain type, and I can't for the life of me remember what she said.

The episode was "The Telfords--the West's modern family"    I know I'm not much help
