I have always used fleece cinches but considered either mohair or alpaca. My mare is pretty thin skinned. I got an awesome deal on a new alpaca and was going to try it out. I did do a BHW search and not much on alpaca. Thanks !

That's all I use on all my horses.  Mohair and/or the alpaca blend.  That includes my rodeo horses, training horses, and colts I ride.  Never had one get sored up.  Even the buckers

Thank you ! Do you find your saddle slip any more or less with them ? Just came in mail today. Getting ready to go ride. Excited to try it!

Both the Alpaca and Mohair will stretch for a while. I think any rumors that saddles roll more with these girths have to do with that. Expect to retighten before running. I've been using the mohair roper girths for 10 years or more and have had no gall or rubs. You can wash them easy by putting in a bucket and soaking or with a hose and brush. They will shrink up a little after washing and go through the stretching process again.

i've never noticed my saddle slip or roll.  I have one hard to fit horse and her saddle stays where I need it.   I do agree they "stretch" just a hair.  But not bad by any means

We use mohair or a blend in on just about everything.

I use a shoulder relief cinch on one who’s just kind of put together funny in the front end and ended up getting a gal, I don’t feel it was cinch specific. Saddles just want to sit farther forward on him and the girth rides up into his elbow area.

Thank you !! Yep the alpaca for sure stretched. Lol. The horse I used it on is a sweat monger so that probably didn’t help much. But horse was for sure comfortable!

Been using alpaca for years and love them.  Never have had my saddle feel like its slipping and never had one sore from it.

I have two 100% alpaca cinches and I love them! Highly recommend! I have the classic equine ones. One is 8 years old one is 3 and other than size they look identical. Hold up well and I definitely noticed less sweat and felt like ponies are more comfortable

We do...on my barrel horses and husbands tripping horses that is it. Plus Mohair Breast Collars and never have any issue. As far as saddles sliding around when I "cinch up" I cinch up tigh enough to rope a bull that way there is no worry at all about my saddle moving. I will pull him up about 10 before me then that is the first thing I do when I get done is get off and uncinch now when I ride at home or anything other than roping something or competing I will leave my cinch loose. My horses are used to it and works for me!
