Jesus often prayed for His follower's eyes to be opened.  Clearly, He was not referrring to physical eyes.  He was asking the Father to give His followers sprittual eyes.  If Jesus felt the need to pray for us, don't we things we should ask the Father the same thing?  Pslam 119 :18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law. He also prayed " Do not hide Your commandments from me v 19. Teach me Your Statures v 26 revive me according to Your Word. V 25 Mae me understand the way of Your precepts  and grant me Your law graciously. V29.  David clearly undated that his relationship with God was directly connnected to the Word,a don His relationship to the Word was clearaly dependent upon his relationship with God. He made request after request of the Father to HELP him understand, obey, and follow the Word. 

Lord, would You PLEASE OPEN our eyes to ALL You want to show us and tell us today in Your Word AMEN

for it is WITH God ALL things ARE POSSIBLE Mathew 19:26
