My gelding has started to get bored in the trailer! He uses his right hind leg to step on his Left hind leg at the coronet band. Thought it would be an easy fix, haul him with Bell boots on hind feet. Put a brand new pro choice ballistic on , hauled 30 minutes , it was cut in half! Hauled home with TWO bell boots on ....... both cut in half!!! First thought was leave it be, when it hurts he might stop but I can’t bring myself to let him skin up his hind leg. Hauled today and I vet wrapped first , then bell boot. No damage but he tried ! Lol. Any ideas for something strong I can put on the hind end bell boot style? Lol thanks.

I saw those !! But he does it right in the front where the split is. And I thought if he can get through a ballistic bell boot those would be a cakewalk. lol. I’m thinking someone has to make one in a thick leather or something. Lol

Ed Galemba (?spelling?) makes really nice leather splint boots and skid boots and I want to say he does bell boots, too. I saw them at D & D not too long ago.

I would try no bows and standing wraps, tape the Velcro on the standing wrap.

His legs are wrapped also. That’s not an issue. Those work well. Just need protection just like a bell boot would cover. But need a material he can’t cut through. Lol

Have you tried these slip on boots? They can be a bugger to take on and off, but I’ve never had a horse rip them.

What if you put those soft ride boots on his back feet? No idea if it would work but maybe he wouldn't hurt himself?

We haul one of our geldings in BOA boots because he will stomp around on himself and also tear up the rubber on the trailer walls.  The boots keep him from doing the kind of damage that he can do with his shoes.
