What else can I do to try to prevent them? Our new horse seems to get them, I'll dr it and a few days later hes got them opened again. It's on both legs. I bedded his stall down extra deep with soft fine shavings because I thought maybe it was just from being on the dirt in the stall. Hes stalled majority of the time with about 4-5 hours of turnout daily if it permits. It's purely cosmetic and they dont bother him but they bother me! Any thing else I can try? My hubby suggested wrapping but I cant think of how I'd do it. ..

My vet recommended tall shipping boots on the back legs when my gelding is stalled. We’ve been doing it every night for about a year and it truly works!!! We keep two fans running in his stall in the hot weather.
