I have my 2 weanlings on a pro biotic from mvp. Baby's go through alot mentally & physically when weaned, so I feel a pro biotic is good to give them. I love the mvp products. Anyway mine have no problem eating their pelleted feed as they both had foal feeders in their stalls & they also ate with their mom's. I agree with baby having a buddy even if buddy is a yearling or older as long as older horse is ok with a weanling. I have hay in front of them 24/7

I tried a probiotic and he won't eat it lol... it's not the MVP though, so I will look into that, Thank you! I believe this colt got a little grain with mom, but I am not sure how much... They said he wasn't real interested in it... Thank you all for the suggestions! He does have a buddy that's a little older, but separate stalls...

If you can, put them together. I added an attached 3 sided house to my round pen with a gate & thats where I wean mine. They have a large area & a house to go into if they choose. The gate on the house is there so I can also use my round pen for any training & I just close that gate to the house so a horse can't go in it
