How long does it take for a stone bruise to heal?  Thought it was an abcess so treated my horse for a solid week but it never busted.  Took him to the vet and got his foot xrayed no abcess everything mechanically looks great but vet said stone bruise.  Its been a little over 3 weeks and I can just barely see a gimp on harder ground.  Vet said light riding for the next couple weeks.  He said sometimes these things linger on.  I have never had one with a stone bruise.

DiO works really well on stone bruises, just apply to the sole. I've had them go away in half the time since I started using it on them.

My shoer put a felt pad just underneath the shoe and she was good to go in 2 days. I too thought it was an ancess and after a week my vet said stone bruise. He said it could take awhile but my shoer said this would work and it did!

I've also used the DiO gel on a horse's stone bruise this summer, within a few days I'd say it was gone.
