I'm needing to hire some help for night time feeding. I got a new job 2 hours away and we don't close until 6. So I'm 8 at best getting home. They're used to eating 4:30-5:00 in the afternoon. I have a girl that said she would help me. What's a fair price? I only have 4 to feed and clean stalls. Takes about 20min. The girl that's helping lives beside my barn so she's not having to go far. I want to be fair but not over pay her either.

When I fed and cleaned stalls of course it was for about 8-10 head and it took bout 2-3 hours and that was rotating them on the walker or turning them out and it was 10.00 an hour Im in Ok and that was for a futurity trainer. I only did evenings. I got the same pay for a racetrack guy and he had lots more horses.

Are your horses turned out and have access to stalls and thats why it doesnt take long to clean? if thats the case I would do for 10.00 day since I would have no gas! and but it would take me longer than 20 mins to clean 4 stalls if they stay in them all day.

3 stay in. At night they go in and out as the please. I clean them in the mornings too so they aren't bad in the afternoon. Each horse usually has about 3 piles.

I'd say $75-100 per month is probably fair, start on the lower end and just communicate with her and ask if she still thinks it's fair after a couple months and reevaluate. Good luck, it's great you have someone close by that is able to care for your critters so they stay in their routine :)

We have no luck here finding any help at all. IF I was able to find someone reliable, I'd pay at least 10 to 15 for feeding 4 and cleaning their stalls. . .
