Hi I am looking for an intership this spring for my degree. I am looking for a barrel internship that is 15 weeks long and could pay if possible. I would also need food and housing if possible. I am hoping to work with the person I'd be interning under. I want to train horses on barrels. I wan to learn as much as I can about differnt techniquies, and exercises. All horses ride differently and lesrn differently. I want to train horses and teach children to ride and I want to be like my barrel racing coach who has gotten me where I am today but to do that I have to get this degree. So I hope yall can help me out. I have struggled to get people to respond to me with a yes or no to even talk to me about an intership. so I hope someone can help a girl out.

Thank you!

I've done an internship and it was a lot of fun and super eye opening! Do you have riding experience in barrel racing? What degree are you getting if I may ask.?
The internship I did was paid. At the time she allowed me to live in the house with them. But many of them require you have a trailer to stay in. You don't get paid much. I had money for food and that was about it. I went to a lot of big Futurities in the Texas area which was a lot of fun. I rode about 14 horses a day if not more. The gal had about 40 so we were very busy. You will work from sun up to sun down. I fed morning and night. And blanketed horses (depending on the weather). I also cleaned stalls some! It's a lot a lot of work. You basically are helping them be able to ride as many as they possibly can. I got to work some on the barrels but definitely don't think this will be an everyday deal. I think depending on who you're with you may or may not get drills and stuff. I loved it. But I was a long waysssss from home! It's a lot of hard work! But I was so thankful for the opportunity!
