| I've asked about certain supplements before, but I want to know any supplement recommendations you have. I took him off equinety because I did not feel like it was doing much at all. He's an older horse and I'm sure he could benefit from something extra. I already have him on a joint supplement I like, so I'm more looking for supplements to help support muscles and the overall body/health. He does get ridden and worked to stay in shape. TIA :) EDIT: Does anyone feed tumeric to their horses?

| What feed are you using on him? Hows your hay? Usually you dont need to add anything if you're feeding a high quality hay and recommended amount of whatever grain you're feeding. The only thing I'm adding and noticing a difference in my older horse is Tri Amino. His topline has dramatically improved with it. But that's about it for him. |

I use Tribute Kalm n EZ and my hay is good quality in my opinion, it's just grass and it's a nice green and soft too. I am only feeding him about 6-7 pounds of grain a day at the moment. The feeding directions call for a bit more but I want to give him the least amount as possitble that will work for him. |

| I give my 30 year old THE MM and he has done quite well on that. I also add 4 blends in with it but you don't have to. He cannot eat hay that well anymore and yes he has had dental work done. |

| If you're looking for an all around supplement, you could use Platinum, or THE Muscle Mass, MVP Exceed 6 way, DAC orange superior, I'm sure there are dozens more to chose from but those are the ones at the top of my list. But typically if you're feeding enough of your feed and good quality forage those extras arent needed unless theres something absolutely specific you're trying to achieve. |

Do you have any pictures you can post of this horse? Sometimes they look a whole lot better then we think. Since hes your horse you may not think he looks good, compared to what others see. |

| Excel EQ and Forco. Then for joints. Summit shots once or twice a month depending on how hard you are hauling. Feed through joint supplements are not as effective as giving the shots.

| Normally I would recommend MVPs Exceed 6-Way, but since you are happy with your current joint supplement I would suggest you check into the In-Sync.
In-Sync is recommended to support healthy muscle function, immune system, and blood cell (oxygen) production. Great choice if you are also wanting to ease muscle discomfort.
If you'd rather not feed a variety of supplements, then I would check into the Exceed 6-Way to simplify your feeding routine. |

Location: Up North | I have all my horses on Omega Horseshine. LOVE IT. My 31 year old mare gets 5 lbs soaked Triple Crown Senior and a cup of Omega and she looks great. My horses range from 3 years old to 31. All look fabulous, have healthy coats, and their feet are great. |

I second this, mine are all on Exceed 6 Way now. It covers every single base in one supplement, makes it so much nicer not having to scoop multiple things. And it's clinically proven, so it's going to work. But I also agree with the In-Sync if you just want to add to whats already working for you. I have used it in the past for one I no longer ride & liked it. |

Location: Willows, CA | Quality hay, Renew Gold Senior, Redmond salt, clean water. That easy. Be sure teeth and parasite control is up to date. If you choose to stick with 6 to 7 pounds of concnetrate per day, you will get better results if you break that up into three feedings. That amount in two feeding overpowers the horses ability to digest it in the small intestine causing a disruption in hind gut effeciency. |

I would love to try these supplements, it's just the price is a little hefty for me right now. He is on actiflex right now, and I compared ingredients and for the joint part they seem to go hand in hand. Acti-flex is so much cheaper though since it is just for the joints. I also like having the liquid option. |

Location: North Dakota -> Colorado | I'm a big proponent of good forage first and foremost. I also like Renew Gold if I have one that needs a little help on keeping weight on. When I was running hard I liked OE Nutraceuticals, personally. Just be careful, ratios of certain vitamins and minerals are really important. |
