Location: In the Hills of Texas | Debra can't get on as they have no power after the storms that went through the other night. She asked me to let you know she is okay but it might be up to 6 days before she has power again. In her words. We had tornados and WIND Lord have mercy. Around 3 inches of rain but no hail!!! I told Sean earlier I need to get home and rest. Even if it's in the dark and cool house!!!! I'm guessing days??! Lake Village, where my office is, they're saying 4 to 6 days. We're rural electric at house so I have no idea. I'm thinking days there also. Thank you for checking on me, it means so much. I did way way too much yesterday so trying to take it easy today. I was hurting pretty bad around 4 to 6 this am. Part of it tho was we were sleeping in living room where the heaters were and my leg couldn't stretch out on recliner. I got in bed and Sean bundled me up and I stopped hurting and could sleep. We appreciate the prayers and thoughts. If you get on BHW, tell our lady friends I'm ok but can't connect right now. |

| Debra - more hugs to you!! Please do NOT over-do! I know you will feel like you need to help fix any stuff that got damaged during the storms. DON'T! My hubb rehabbed one of his knees correctly, doing only the rehab and instructed use. The second knee he decided to go back to work instead of rehabbing. He is still 'lurching' as bad as before surgery because he took a bad step on a ladder during the healing time. Don't go out in the mud and work. Unless it's about to die just let it set until you are healed. I'm sending you all my positive healing thoughts, and patience thoughts, and power back on thoughts!! |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Thinking of you Miss Debra, hoping to see you on here sooner then later, sucks having no electricity, thats why we do have a generator for power outage if its going to be longer then a few days.. Maybe they can go rent one. And rent a hospital bed too to put closer to the heat source, to me theres no place like home to recoupe when sick or after surgery..Hospital beds are pretty cheap to rent.. Hope to hear from you soon |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I copied and sent everyone's post and this was her response. Each of you make me cry cause just TOO sweet. Just amazing special people. I pray God blesses each of y'all for being so so kind. Tell them I'm good--Lake Village got power about an hour ago. So things are moving!!! We will sleep in bed tonight, we got another radiant heater. And bought the last (any kind!!) Generac generator yesterday. So please let them know I love all my angels for thoughts and prayers; Sean is taking good care of me and animals and the house. Many hugs to all of you |

I second this! Rehab exactly how you are supposed to and no more. Us horse / dog / country minded people tend to think we are invinsible, but we are not. My physical therapist always told me "wear your helmet and stay in your lane"...he knew I woud do more than allowed healing a shoulder surgery. |

LOL, I see you Debra
I'm BAAAAAACK!!!!! (I couldn't get anything to type for awhile after I got back on.) I have no words to tell y'all what your thoughts and prayers and offers and advice and sweet sweet words mean to me. We got power back Tuesday night at 6:27, but there has been so much going on that I've just now been able to get back to y'all. And I've MISSED my friends on here so much. . . We have no damage to our houses (mine or Momma's). Praise God no one was hurt. Our barn and pasture and all animals are fine. Deer camp (family built in 1965) is demolished, and C had tractor and ATVs out there---smashed too. My parent's trailer they stayed in out there is probably totalled also. But it's all "things"that can be replaced. The most heartbreaking loss was the YEARS of pictures hanging on the walls that got blown away; but God is good and we shall persevere. (Some of you may remember my post about C's friend that had a daughter on Christmas--their house was blown away, but again, God is good and they were at her parent's house. Scott said "we have the thing that matters in our arms, all else can be replaced.") I was having no pain with my knee, just basically soreness the first few days, until 3 days ago--now I really hurt at night. I can't take pain pills because they make me puke! So we're powering thru this. Doctor said today that he really had to do a lot in my knee (cartilage smoothing, meniscus removal, bone chip removed, etc), so the pain was to be expected; he said all looks like it should and cleared me to remove bandage and get my entire leg wet in the shower---oh what a feeling . Still moving slowly and a knee replacement is in my future, but I'm good. Thank y'all again for everything, my BHW angels. (We needed a new generator for the horse trailer, but this electricity situation wasn't the way I wanted to have to buy it!!!) |

| SO thankful to hear you are safe and sound Miss D! I couldn't imagine losing everything, especially the pictures and things like that, that are truly irreplaceable. My heart goes out to you for what you've been through! If there is anything we can help with, please please let me know! I'm still unable to get into my messages, but you have been on my heart and mind. I'm unable to take narcotics as well, they make me hallucinate, vomit, etc. I don't see how or why people enjoy that crap, but with all the surgeries I have needed, taking two ibuprofen and one extra strength Tylenol at the same time has always worked. It gives the same pain relief without the side effects of narcotics. I hope you get some relief soon and the pain doesn't hinder your healing process love and prayers are continually heading your way my friend!

God bless you L--I'm headed to bed with some Ibuprofen and bottle of water beside me in case I need them during the night!! Please just keep our area in your prayers as they are so much appreciated--some people still don't have power and some have lost everything. . . |

Dang woman, looks like you hit a barrel! ,,,,, But really so glad that your doing so well, maybe when you take the weight off of it and its not working then thats when the pain sets in,but while your moving around and working the knee a little it helps to keep the pain and inflammation away. looks like it might get a bit stiff while resting. |

I think that's exactly it, because after PT, it usually feels better for a few hours. Not as achy or stiff. You are so smart Dr R!!!! |

My knee would start hurting at night and the Tommie Copper knee sleeve helped with that. I would also hang my knee off the bed and swing it back and forth. That will loosen it up and get bloodflow going and lessen the pain. I slept with my leg straight. Continued prayers! Ice works great but just use 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. |

That sounds exactly like me! And I'm gonna order one of those TC sleeves. Did you wait til the incisions were completely healed? Mine are just about scabbed over but not quite. . . |
