My mare doesn't have much for withers. When I ride the saddle slides forward and moves around too much. I currently ride in a Crown C with a 1 inch pad. I was told to get a Saddleright pad, but I would need a different saddle then (too wide for a thin pad). Any thoughts of what saddle would work well for a low wither, average size qh?

A thick pad like an inch will make a Saddle roll and slide around. I'd get a thinner pad. How does your saddle fit when just set on your horse's back? If good then you don't need anything thicker then 3/4 or max 7/8. I love saddleright pads too.

A 1 inch pad is just to thick for a barrel saddle, I would at least try a 3/4, or a 7/8 if you feel you need more pad. A Crown C fits my gelding just right with a 3/4 pad 5 Star and hes built like a little tank. And sometimes if your saddle is to narrow it will slide forward to. Do you have any pictures of your horse with the saddle & pad and with out pad.
My friend is going to let me try her saddleright with it. I agree, I can see thicker pads making the saddle roll more.
It's a 9"gullet and I have a pretty average width qh with a smaller wither. She's mostly cow bred. I'd attach a picture, but I've never had luck on here :( They usually don't post.
