| I swear sometimes I wonder how I'm not completely bald as much as my hair sheds.. it's kind of embarrassing. I keep my hair up a lot in a messy bun or pony tail or in a ball cap.. I wash and condition about every other day (sometimes longer, I'll admit) I'm not currently taking any vitamins other than i just started a pre/probiotic like a week ago. The gal that does my hair, about every 8 to 10 weeks never says anything like its thinner but I honestly dont know how. I've been reading up on taking collagen to help hair and skin ... any one have any experience with taking collagen supplements or something for hair health ? My hair lady says my hair is very healthy and I am surprised about that because I'm pretty sure we have to hardest well water in the county

| I took collagen and it didn't work for me. What has is Rosemary essential oil. One drop mixed with the shampoo in my hand has helped. I have a bunch of new short hairs growing around my hairline. I have heard that putting your hair in a ponytail or braid can cause thinning of the hair on top of your head and the front sides which is where I am thinning the most. I try to not wear a ponytail, but I am in South Texas and today we had 80+ degrees with high humidity, so I still wear it in a ponytail or messy bun. |

| I love rosemary essential oil! I do use a hair oil that has hemp, argan and rosemary oil all mixed together. My friends hemp store produces this concoction. I haven't been using it very long but I sure do love the smell of it. I rub it thru my scalp and in my ends nightly. If anything the smell relaxes me |

Try not to wear your hair up in a high pony every day, and don't be afraid to go three days without shampooing & conditioning your hair! I do an Olaplex treatment every 8 weeks when I get my hair colored. It helps strengthen it when you add all the color chemicals, so maybe ask your hairstylist about that too. You can always get a filter that screws into your shower head to manage chlorine/flouride/etc levels, from Lowe's or Home Depot. There may be one to help temper some of that hard water you wash with. |

Chances are it is not, more likely cosmetic grade which is mostly man made chemical. Of course I could be wrong, especially since I don't know the brand. Just a thought. oops! Never mind! I bet they are using therapeutic grade. Sorry I should have slowed down my reading!

My hair started to thin really bad a couple months ago, especially on the front left portion of my head.. which was very noticeable. I just started taking 1500 mg of Biotin. Got it from the vitamin store, I also a daily multi vitamin as well. It's been like 3 months and my hair is growing like crazy..and my growing bald spot is almost all filled it. A simple addition, not extra crap in my body. |

I take the hair/nail chewies, quit for awhile, and I could definitely tell the difference when I did. My hair comes out horribly (I think) when I brush it after washing, but my cousin (my hair dresser) says my hair is thick and very healthy. So I'm going with what she said!!!! |

| I just started caster oil and rosemary oil mix. Heard both were good for hair growth. Anything with hair takes soooo long for results! I want instant results! |

| I do sometimes go longer since I stay home and honestly dont have much of a life outside our place except shuffling kids to and from baseball practice, since i use that oil on my scalp it will look greasy, but I can throw on my ball cap or beanie if it's cold and be fine. I only use scrunchie type bands on my hair not rubber bands and I use a wide tooth comb to detangle it. I'm typically usually careful to make sure I'm not pulling out my hair, on purpose. My hair doesnt feel thinner but I'm just shocked and the amount that comes out sometimes. I use Dove shampoo & Conditioner. I just cant force myself to spend a lot on shampoos and conditioner from the salon. My stylist talks me into a leave in and an hair mask every 3 or 4 visits but that's it. I do let her do a deep conditioning treatment every other visit I forget what it's called, keratin treatment or something but I sit under a dryer for 20 minutes with it on. |

I honestly never asked her but I'm almost 100% positive it's the real deal that she uses as far as essential oils. Shes not the type that wouldnt use only 100% organic therapeutic grade products to add into her products. I only need a drop or 2 of it, it goes a long way. |

no, but your thyroid issue can be. Once your hormones level out that should stop. If it doesn't you should talk to your doctor because they may need to change your dose. That's one of my symptoms of my TSH on the rise..my hair falls out in handfuls. So bad I have to clean the drain daily. My hair also gets very dry due to well water and my hypothyroidism. THE BEST shampoo I've found is hands down Aveda Sap Moss..it's worth every single penny. |

Location: Illinois | Olaplex is a game changer for any hair, doesn't even need to be colored/chemically treated. I get my dark brown hair lightened to platinum in one sitting, so you can imagine how much I shed. Started using Olaplex shampoo, conditioner, & once a week treatment & my hair doesn't shed at all now. My brush used to be thick with hair by the end of a week and now there's probably 10% of that. Took about 2 months of using it to see the current results. Been using it since it came out now. Coconut oil also works wonders too & will help the baby hairs from breakage grow faster. I just finger it through my dry hair once a week & let it sit for a couple hours at night & then wash out. For me thats helped more than anything I've tried to ingest for it |

I use to have my hair highlighted very very light, I decided to tone it down and had her start putting darker low lights in. I'm thinking of shying away completely from blonde. I'm kinda over it. Of course, I gave my stylist strict instructions to not listen to me when I tell her, let's go dark .. i always change my mind ... lol! But seriously, I'm really considering going darker, shes going to kill me. My natural color is kind of a mousey brown, just bland .. boring.. I'm finding the blonde being really difficult to keep up with . The color fades because of our water out here, I've used all the purple shampoos. My hair just doesnt want to hold that nice light blonde that it looks like when I leave the salon. A few weeks later it's back to yellowing or brassy looking. Here I am talking myself into going darker lol! I was always told darker colors are less hard on your hair than light. |

I have a lot of iron/rust in my well water, it's always a light yellow color or runs red after a heavy rain. I didn't have luck with any purple shampoos except Surface Pure Violet shampoo & conditioner. It's ridiculousy strong stuff. If you leave it on too long it'll stay purple even. Mine stays nice longer with the Olaplex too, it doesn't start brassing for 3-4 weeks. I go 3 months between appointments & haven't had any brass issues anymore. I only use the pruple shampoo & conditioner once a week and the Olaplex the rest of the time |

| My thyroid showed up on my yearly wellness exam with a blood test. My TSH levels were 68.62 now they are 14.??. So they are going dow and I think your TSH leavels are to be in the 4.?? to 5.?? range. I had always suspected my thyroid was out of whack but never had it tested until lately and not sure why they caught it now. |

I do well at about .5, but everyone is different. If you are at 14 that is still way too high in my opinion, but I am not a physician, so you should definately follow the advice of yours over me. But, believe me when you get it right you will feel better and it's noticeable. At least it was for me. I was diagnosed in my early 20s. I could sleep round the clock and still be tired and I gained a sh8t ton of weight and showed clinical signs of depression. In my younger years I was always very thin, had a super high metabolism, could eat whatever I wanted, when I wanted, and then one day it's like someone blew out the fire in the furnace. Rapidly gained about 70+ pounds, it was pure hell. I was tested, put on meds, but the physicians I had would ignore me when I told them I still didn't feel good. My TSH would chart at about 5-7 and they told me that was normal and all in my head. I've been told I'm lazy, that if I was working out an hour then I should work out two. I've since found a great doctor, who listens, and works with me. i have regular blood work and will sometimes have a blood draw when I'm not feeling good. Most times it's because my TSH is off.

My stylist just picks it up for me when she goes to their supply store. Or I've also ordered from Amazon & it was just fine. Some say thats not the same quality as what the stylist gets, but sometimes I think thats a scam started by stylists to get you to spend double on the one they sell lol |

| Yes that was me when I was younger. I am 69 now but I could always sleep round the clock but I did have a bigger drive when I was younger as I had horses to train and show but that all changed when I divorced and moved to Oklahoma. I took a year off from working but found I had to go back to work to pay the bills and now I don't have time to ride or train and my horses got older right along with me so they are retired now and I am dealing with lameness issues with them in their older years. I am hoping to get back to feeling better and not sleep so much on the weekends. She has changed my dosage and I will keep getting blood tests down until I level off and in the normal range for my TSH. |

Sounds familiar. Mine's always been a 4 when tested, but I have pretty much every single symtom of hypothyroidism there is. So my doctor just tells me it's all because I'm "obese". I followed a nutritionist's plan and worked out with a trainer for months & never lost an ounce of weight or inches. Went back to doctor, she said I'm not doing enough. What I was doing had worked several times before, losing up to 5lbs a week. It was very successful previously and didn't do squat this time. And this weight came on a lot faster than ever previously and I had been eating the same things & maintaining before for several years. Just had it tested again and its still at 4, but my mom's was at 5 when she had the same issue & eventually had to have hers out bc it was thryroid cancer. Same freaking doctor. I'm considering going to a new one, but I have a $5,000 deductible before my insurance will pay and I don't really have the funds to pay after some really nice unplanned vet bills the end of the year lol. |

| One of my husbands cousins is a hair dresser and I've spoken to her a few times about that myth about buying from them or online. She said it really depends. Some are hit or miss... but she did give me a little secret, go to Marshals (department store) and buy their professional salon products they have on their shelves, usually marked off for clearance. I've done it several times ... getting Paul Mitchell, Redkin, Aveda products for 60-70% off salon prices. Only thing is catching them before they disappear, sometimes they only have the shampoo available or just the conditioner, I buy them when I can. She told me they are the real deal salon products overstocked. |
