If all the horses in the immediate last few generations are correctly color designated, he shouldn’t be a bay.  It’s a heck of a puzzle and was a big shocker.  I guess time will tell after he sheds.

He sure looks like a bay to me as well.  In 20 plus years, I’ve had 16 babies, only 2 were filles.  Of those, probably 95 percent were sorrel,

I can see that plain as day now--a fanning peacock. . . Upside down heart was my first thought.
