I just finished giving my horse the 7 shot/ every 4 days as directed treatment of adequen. Just wondering If anyone knows on the average how long will he benefit from this treatment? When do most retreat, yearly, twice a year, 3 or more times a year? Thanks in advance!

The current recommendation is to do the loading dose once in spring and once in fall, skip the the monthly dose.

I think it is going to depend on the horse and how they respond to it and/or if you are trying to help a specific issue or just prevention.

I have always done the loading dose in the spring, followed by once a month, per the direction of my vet. I really notice that Red will ride much smoother and easier when it is within a week or two of his dose. It might kill my pocketbook, but I am really considering possibly trying a dose every 2 weeks with him (if my vet approves) because it does help him to move better I have noticed.
