Has anyone put up the clear span hoop barn on a pony wall to ride in?  Likes/Dislikes?  Who did you use to erect it?  Is it cost effective vs the pole barn?  Just trying to gather info before me and Mr Whit have a little talk about how im liking social distancing more and more... lol

I personally think the natural light would be a big plus and as long as i have somewhere thats not a mud pit to ride in i think i could be happy.

I'm looking into one for a barn - not for riding. I have a small one now that I got in 2005 or so,and if the hay truck hadn't started an issue pulling one corner free would still be awesome. The one corner led to an end opening and letting in the wind which has led to a degradation of both ends due to winds pushing and pulling and stuff. The cover material on this cheaper model has held up for 15 years with no leaks and very little in rubbing thinness from the tension across the metal frame. I am assuming that the thicker higher quality cover on the larger true hoop buildings will hold up longer than I plan to stay at this property just fine. You still have to prep the ground for whatever your use, and we would hire in a recommended (by Farmtek) crew to install.  One advantage in our situation is that it is still considered a temporary building so we can erect as close to the property line as we'd like. There are two in my area that are used for riding arenas. One is somewhere between 10 and 15 years old and still looks and performs great. The other is about 5 years old and still looks brand new. I'd would put one over my arena except they only come in 100' widths and my arena is 140'. Plus, that's very 'spensive - even in hoop!

I take it by your response that you used farm tek for yours?  The 10-15 year looks great really interest me.

Yes, I would go with Farm Tek. Their materials and packages are much higher grade for about the same price as some of the other brands I've checked into. Most likely they will have at least a couple construction companies who have erected in your area, no matter how remote you are. The bigger buildings are not just a weekend project for us normal peeps. My 14x34 was put up by 6 normal peeps and two tall ladders - but 14' isn't much of a span. And it still took most of 2 days to get it together correctly.
