I was wondering what some of the middle-end fencing options are? I am pretty open as to what materials to build a new fence with. I don't have much spare fencing laying around, so this will be all new. The new pasture is only going to be about a thousand sqare feet. What are your guys' opinions on fencing? I am not a fan of hot fencing, I would like something a bit sturdier. I am thinking maybe vinyl, mesh, or...? I am not 100% against wood, but my gelding wood chews so bad, that I'd prefer not to replace boards all the time. Thank you!! Any options are appreciated!

Althought you said you were against a hot fence, you may wish to consider a 4-strand Electro Braid fence using wood posts.  We have used Electro Braid for nearly 20 years to fence / cross-fence about 10 acres using solar-powered chargers.  It's been great! Well worth investment.
