I am considering breeding a maiden mare that is 11yo.  I am looking at a local stallion so it will be live cover.  How much are typical vet expenses for "mare care" considering I won't be doing AI or shipped semen etc etc.

We charge stud fee, daily mare care and the cost of the preg check ultrasound. That is it.

So far we haven't had to go further. If a mare owner was willing and needed to, we could take the mare to a repro vet for further treatment etc, but I much prefer them to pick the mare up and do that themselves.

I paid a flat monthly fee for mare care when my mare was bred with live cover. As far as vet expenses, I paid a farm call plus preg check which came out to be like $90 with my vet.
