Location: Dearing, GA | I saw that his family is dispersing of the QH side of business on May 16 with an auction. Looks like JL Dash to Heaven will have a reserve, but everything else is selling to absolute highest bidder. That over 100 head of quality bred quarter horses. So sad to see this. Feel like this is really the end of an era. |

Location: Hiding from Reality | There was a post on the Jud Little Ranch Facebook page. Superior Livestock Auctions is doing the auction. I am sad to see this all come to an end, but we do not know how the estate and the Will read. It might be the only way to divide everything up and liquidate horses without a significant family feud. I'm sure there will be a few horses that will not go far. |

He had been ill for a while, I imagine this was planned before his passing. Avoids a lot of family squabbling. |

Folks like him with extensive and valuable assets typically do extensive estate planning -- and that usually includes a trust. With this moving so fast, I'd say he had a well-planned trust. If you have a trust you do not have to go through the months long probate in order to distribute assets as the trust dictates. |

I registered. Nothing available yet, and from Jud's previous liquidations, they are slow to produce a catalog. He has 2 rope mares, I'd kill to get my hands on though. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | I know nothing of the Jud Little ranch except their nice horses, but why the dispersal sale? Does he not have a wife or kids that want to keep it up and going? Wasn't he married to an NFR barrel racer? Or is this a normal thing for a large place like that after someone passes away? |

| I think it will be interesting to see where the prices fall considering this coronavirus issue. They said they are booking appts for people to go see them but Im not sure how much time you would have there or how many they will let you see and evaluate. |

Location: A roping pen near you!! | He was married to Bennette and her health is not good. He has 2 children who have their own lives and probaly don't want to run the day to day operation. And they probaly would want to get the horses to homes that can use them and not let them sit and waste away!! Imagine running a ranch with 150 head of horses and you have no idea what to do or where to start. I know Maddie used to run barrels and now has 2 or 3 kids and I'm not sure about Penn and he lives in Chicago. |

Left nothing to his wife or his son. Yes as someone said, it's the end of an era :( I'm just sorry Judd died from cancer. What he had was very painful & that right there is very sad.

| How about this? How about since the topic is the Jud Little dispersal sale. and everyone on here knows/knows about Jud Little and his accomplishments as a breeder, promoter and supporter of the barrel racing industry, we keep all comments on that topic? Out of respect for the man and his family, this is not the place for anything else. I'm sure no one wants their dirty laundry - regradless of the source and/or validity - on public display. You need entertainment or to make yourself feel better or more validated? Go watch the tiger man **** show wherever that is aired. |

I wasn't trying to be disrespectful by sharing the article. I just was sharing with others in order to explain in more detail why the dispersal may be happening. |

There could be many reasonable business reasons why the dispersal is happening and there is no constructive reason for us to speculate is there? The industry suffered a loss and no doubt many friends and family are hurting right now. Have some empathy. Would you want something like that shared for public discussion about your loved one? There are always two (or more) sides to every story and ultimately it's not any of our business.

Very insightful.
Considering his son wrote it.... its very insightful, it tells a bigger story... so you may or may not agree with it, but it's part of the puzzle leading to the sale... |
