Check your accounts, my stimulus check came in today.

I am in Utah and they announced yesterday that schools would stay closed for the rest of the school year, I'm not surprised and bet Wyoming will do the same. Idaho made that decision last week.

Trump is saying he wants to get the country back open within the week, is that possible? I think it'll be a slow process and go state by state.

I wouldn't be surprised to see stay at home orders and restrictions into May. I hope I'm wrong.

Also, what happens when people go back to "normal" life? Will we see another spike? If there is a spike will we be back to square one at shutting the country down? Will we just learn to live with COVID-19?

What does everyone else think?

Yep my whole 305.00 came today. I am going to donate it to charity of some sort. There is no reason to pay me. I teach high school in CA so my salary has not been affected.  . So I'm donating it. As for opening back up , CA is going to reopen on a limited basis mid May. Governor said public places will have half the number of tables , chairs etc. service workers will have gloves and masks , all people going into public places like restaurants will have temperature checks etc. There is talk that even in the fall when schools do reopen there will be major changes. Smaller class sizes , further apart , masks , probably no sports, school day will be split where students come in in groups instead of everyone together. All to be determined until herd immunity kicks in and vaccine is available.

My income hasn't been effected, I am still working too. Thankfully.

I'm tossing the idea around the idea of sending my horse out for a tune up and some pattern work, I might use it for that. Or I booked a trip to New Orleans for September. I might just save it to spend there.

If you want to travel later in the year flights are crazy cheap right now

so its not a flat $$$ for every individual?

also just announced in Indiana yesterday there will be no 4h programing through June 30th.  I think thats way excessive to put it out that far and not know when the peak will be.  Also if we do get to do programing in July we will have 10 days to get our kids ready to show at the county fair.  Thats fine and dandy for all the old hands.... but what about the 25 new kids we have never seen?  This hurts my heart.

It is.  It's $1200/adult and $500/child.

My husband and I are fortunate to both still be working. However he owns a construction company and we may see a trickle down effect. He has had a few jobs cancelled since the start of all this.

We don't "need" the Stimulus money, but we will use it to put back into the economy. So we'll use it to visit local restaurants, small businesses and such to give back to those who have struggled through this more than we have had to.

Same here, the Kansas Humane Society is on a drive for donations of cat and dog food for folks who are struggling and can't feed their pets.  I'm loadin up my truck.

I don't know the exact numbers or formula, but there is an income cap on receiving the full stimulus amount.  If you make more than the income cap, then you get less stimulus money, but you still do get some.  I am assuming that there is a top income where you don't receive any stimulus money.

No not the same for everyone. If you make a certain amount and lower then yes, fixed amount. If your above that , then it's so many dollars off for every 1,000 over the limit. My adjusted gross is just over 100k so it was depreciated. Lol.

I'm trying to figure out how you hand out checks to illegals who "shouldn't" have a Social Security number.  Do you just have them line up like they did for their driver's licenses and say "here ya go, enjoy" when they could just as well be drug dealers and gang members who would happily take Californians tax dollars.

I didn't know until last week that Gov. Gavin Newsom is Nancy Pelosi's nephew.  That explains a lot.

Virginia announced they extended their stay at home order until June 10th! Holy crap. . . that seems a little excessive to me. . .

This website has a list of stay at home orders and when they will expire.

Exactly! Supposed to be illegal to hire and illegal. Newsome said that illegals have paid billions in Taxes to our state but are unable to collect unemployment. Why would someone undocumented pay taxes to a country they are not a citizen of?!?  I call BS on the whole thing. Then this morning on news it said PRIVATE contributions were paying for hotel rooms for Medical and fireman /policeman testing positive and need a place to isolate. Rediculous.

How many times did we hear Pelosi and Schumer say "no one is above the law" when they were talking about Trump and their impeachment farce.   Only millions of illegals seem to be above the law.

This doesn't compute. If the illegals are paying taxes they must be entered into their employers system for payroll. If that's the case they are working on a stolen SS#.

If by paying taxes they mean sales tax then so what?  They are using the services of the state and they SHOULD pay sales tax which I assume is being used for infrastruture. That's the point of a sales tax. To make sure even people from out of state help pay for the services they are using as they travel through.

I don't think we should kiss their asses for paying a small part of what they use. After all they are either stealing someone elses identity in using a stolen SS# or they are being paid under the table and also using social services to double their take. They know how to play the system.

Oh of course. I hate this F----- state ! Sometimes I feel like the only conservative living here. Lol. I want out the moment I retire!!! He tried to say that they make up so much of our work force that it's fair. Ugh.

Rediculous.

Or they have a valid ITIN.

If they have a valid ITIN then they are known to the government. If they are known and are illegal, it's still illegal to employ them.  What am I missing?

Laura Wilkerson's son, Josh, was killed in a brutal manner by a "dreamer" several years ago.  He was 17.  Laura was face to face with a young Hispanic man on FOX one day who was proud to be an illegal and thought the whole world should be welcome here.  He told her in an obstinate way he was working and paid taxes just like American citizens.  This sad and stoic mother asked him how he could do that without a Social Security card.  He said his dad had bought one for him when he was a kid.  He never appeared on FOX again and had been a regular.
