Hs anyone tried the Hilton Herbs Bye Bye Fly Garlic?  Fly spray just doesnt seem to do the trick anymore...... Of course I know it doesnt help that we live next a Dairy!  Any ideas?  I live in Texas so hate to be putting fly sheets on them when it gets so HOT  I use fly masks for their face.  I need to buy new masks for thsi year & was looking at the ones that was like a slinky around their face with the nettting around their eyes.  But still not sure if the slinky part around face would be to hot??  Thansk in advance :)

I haven't tried any of that, but I know that the flies are bad this year.  I had been using a dairy spray that says instant kill -- it isn't even scaring the flies, this year, much less killing them.  They used to drop on the ground when I'd spray that stuff.  I had a horse over the weekend get hurt and I bought 4 different fly sprays trying to find one that would help keep him from having to stomp so much.  None had great success, but Spartan was the best of the 4 (they make the mosquito tubes that work awesome - when my husband saw the Spartan spray, he bought me some to try).

My friend with a huge barn said straight citronella mixed with another oil to dilute has been their best bet.

This is the only fly spray that works for my horses and its last a few days after I put it on them.

I usually feed a feed through. like this year i am trying Flies A Way by mvp. in the past i have used Buggzo and simplifly, and smart bug off ultra. they worked fairly well. i have a horse that HATES spray bottles so I use the spot on freedom as well and wipe stuff around his face and belly. I just bought some of those masks your talking about but haven't tried them yet. I always used the farnam supermaks in the past but they seems to rub them off frequently

I almost bought that one to try....

I had luck with Be Free of Flies and went to buy more and the store was out...they said it wasn't selling...yet they were out of it...and the last time I went there they were ALMOST out.

I took my pest control husband to a different store to see if they carried it and they didn't - I said please help me pick one that isn't just throwing my money away...He said the Dairy one should have worked - it had more active ingredient percentage than any of the others....?

I've used Pyrahna before - maybe I'll try again.

I rotate my fly spray and I have to be careful as my one gelding is super sensitive.  What I used last year and it seemed to have worked fairly well was the Wipe II in a green bottle.

I have resorted to Mosquito Halt, even though we do not have mosquitos yet. It’s the only thing that I can find to work. I hate the smell of it. Does anyone remember Larry’s Fly Spray? It was like a mint green color, and a concentrate.

My feed store recommended. MARTIN 13.3% permethrin.  I spray a lot of horses and have had the best results with this. It even keeps those big black horse flies off. I bought a 1 gallon pump sprayer at Walmart and mix as the directions say. If you want to really keep all bugs off you can add a couple of glunks of AVON SKIN SO SOFT and about 20 drops of citronella oil (not the lamp oil) and 20 drops of lemon grass oil both of which I bought in AMAZON.  This is the third year I have used these bottles.  Runs about 80 cents a quart. I used to use Pyrannah but can't justify $16 a quart and has the same ingredients.
