I have tried the Bye bye Fly leg wraps for one of mine. They snap on and are citronella scented and they have really worked. Problem is that they only last a few weeks to a month. If you try the shoofly and they dont work then maybe try these citronella scented.

Do they make the legs hot? I am in Oklahoma and summer heat can get pretty hot.
Not at all. It's a light airy mesh material. I bought a medium size for my horse. They stay up perfectly... no rubbing or heat when I remove them. My niece next door keeps hers on 24/7 on her pasture horses and they are holding up great!
love mine. they have last about 3 years so far with them on 24/7 during NC lovely summer weather. I haul in mine (check for poop when ya get where your going), will light ride in them and they wear them all the time
Agree they last about a season, then they kind of get worn out.
I keep them on my horses pretty much all the time in the summer months. Last year, NEVER lost one.
I used them on three horses last year. All wore a size medium. One horse was smaller boned and he probably could have had a small, but they worked fine. Other horse is VERY large boned and the mediums are great for him.
Bought a set of mini Shoofly for my mom's mini's this year. Danged they are so cute! (of course the mini's are too)
