I watched hours of footage of War in the Pacific the other evening and it broke my  heart.  Focused mainly on the islands like Iwo Jima, Saipan and Okinawa where tens of thousand of U.S. soldiers were killed.  12,500 on Okinawa alone.  Some scenes just took your breath away.  This wasn't the movies.  Then the films of the Kamikaze where thousands of sailors died.  War is horrible....so many young lives.  Let's hope we don't lose these freedoms they fought for.
