Alright guys, I scoured the forums and couldn't find any info on what I am looking for here. I got a good kernel of advice, which was to look at what the pros who are built like me are riding in... problem is, I've not really seen anyone built like me. I am short (5'1) and top heavy (broad shouldered, chesty, and lots of muscles)... Beginning my look for a saddle that is going to keep me balanced.

I had an Ammerman about a million years ago, then I got hooked on Bob Marshall. I rode those for well over 10 years, up until last year, and now I have a Tammy Fischer. I thought the forward hung stirrups may distribute my weight a little better, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

What is working for all you other short, athletic girls out there? What do you like/ not like. My horse is pretty easy to fit, nothing special, other than he's a bit uphill, which I think might also be contributing to legs getting sucked back.

Thanks!!!

Also intersted to see what people suggest. I am looking for some suggestions on a saddle that has a more secure feel myself as well. I have heard great things from a couple of my friends that are a little bigger on the top half that the love their Sibleys. The higher cantel really gives them a sense of security.

I am short (5'2") and have always had heck finding a saddle to keep my legs forward. I absolutely love my Martin FX3. It was built for the shorter legged person and the pommels are built so you can grip with your legs if necessary. I have a cutting reject that shuts down hard and it has kept me in the saddle. When I first tried the demo saddle i took me about 3 days to get a feel for it and was actually going to look elsewhere, but ended up liking it.

You might look at the Masters saddles also - I have a lot of friends that ride in those and they really like how they keep them secure. Plus they are super light. If I get another I definitely want to try one of these.
