I'm seriously considering starting a new fb page with only a very, very short list of friends and the horse groups, buy/sell groups and a few of the home decor and gardening groups I'm in. I just find my fb feed is full of people sharing non stop news of covid, riots, the new stupid thing our prime minister did, etc. I've deleted news feeds, blocked lots of people and still if I scroll through to find horse info or garden into etc I see all this other crap and well it's like a bad car wreck, you don't want to see it but you slow down to look anyway. Furthermore I've got like 600 plus people as fb "friend" and I'd venture to guess I wouldn't sit down and have coffee with 575 of them.  I could delete but am thinking a new account with very limited people and a few group pages would be easier. Anyone else done this to get away from fb drama?

You don't have to unfriend or block those that you don't want to see ..... just go to settings and set "unfollow" on the friends, groups, or news feeds ...... that way, you can always see if they post on your posts and interact with them but you don't have to see the crap that they post every day!

I logged off April of last year and would get back on once a week to check my sponsor pages and share some of their posts. Then I'd get back off. Got tired of all the drama and attention seekers. Got on a little during the NFR and the American just to keep up with events. I'm currently very happy to still be logged off right now. I was also too dependent on checking it, like it would drive me up a wall to not scroll my news feed at least once a day. When I quit I realized I had a lot of extra free time to do other things. But if there's things you don't want to see just unfollow the people/pages, you don't have to unfriend them completely.

I use facebook only for people i'm willing to sit down with. I look at facebook as a open crime target--most people post when they are on vacation, 100+ friends that you don't know..boom your robbed.

Delete the people you aren't truly friends with, when they get political or something you dislike unfollow or snooze for 30 days!

thats why I never got onto Facebook I would always hear about all the drama. Sounds like FB could be very over whelming too trying to keep up with everything thats going on.

I am 110% considered this... I dont care what people's beliefs are but thats just it, I dont care. The constant complining about wearing masks or not wearing masks. Trump lovers or Trump haters... I like facebook for seeing updates from friends or distant families that I may not be as close to but still care about their lives. I am so dependent on it for events now though that I dont dare get rid of it... but starting a new one isnt a bad idea except I dont even know who doesnt share the crap I would like to avoid.

I closed my FB account and started a new one in 2015, mainly because I had so much crap on my old one and I was starting a new career, I didn't know what all was on there/what was public. But with my current FB I don't add anyone I do not physically know. I know people that had 1000+ friends because they just add people, and I have about 230 and they are people either I grew up with, ride with, family, or met through the military. It really keeps all the crap and drama off my news feed. There have been a few people I have unfriended because of their negativity, inappropriate comments, or maybe I've grown out of. Also, all of my FB is on private, so if you go to my page you will see some pics of my husband and I, my horse, my name, where I am from, and where I currently live and that's about it. No need for all of that drama!

People will post about COVID-19, Trump, etc. But If they are my friends I don't want to unfriend them for that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If I don't want to see it, I hit the "unfollow" button and away they go and I don't see it. Easy peasy.

I have been off Facebook for 2 years now.  I do go on periodically to buy or sell things and I get sucked back into that scrolling BS and spend more time on it than I want.  My life has changed in so many positive ways being off of it.  I think to myself I wasted 9 years of my life scrolling through mindless BS.  I want to have control over what I feed my mind.   So, yes I think starting a new FB page with a few certain things on is a GREAT idea!

I did that and it was going great until I decided to be friends with my husband and like 4 of my family members ... I started getting more friend requests and then started getting questioned why I didnt accept this or that friend request and major guilt trips from my family.... so I'm basically back to where I started lol! But yes, its easy to just unfollow people and not have to see the nonsense... and they are none the wiser ... unless they notice you never like any of their posts....happened to me a few times... sometimes I just want to nix the whole thing again but I have always found great deals on stuff on Facebook plus I'm horse shopping so it helps and I sell chickens so I need to be on there to keep up with everyone ..
