Most of us here know what its like to live like a carney out of our living quarter trailer. You have limited space and have to get crafty in some cases. 

What are some hacks/tips/gadgets or organizational things you've done or purchased that have been a game changer for you?

For me, one of those stand up water tanks for the corner of the tack room is a great thing to have. You can rinse your horse off or fill buckets when you are a long way from the nearest hose. 

Also, I like for my trailer to have its own set of tooth brushes, bath towels, pillows, sheets, ect so there is minimal packing and unpacking. Load your clothes and go. 

I have a fully stocked LQ, or had, I should say. When covid panic hit and we couldn't find toilet paper, paper towels and disinfecting wipes or even dish and hand soap, I had a bunch in my trailer we had to use! Now I'm slowly replenishing my trailer as I'm able to. I keep a bunch of towels, tooth brushes, body wash shampoo/conditioners, toothpaste, coffee, coffee maker, extra bottled waters in my storage, extra bed sheets and some clothes too... realistically,  if we absolutely had to, we could hook up, load horses and just go without having to pack much at all. I keep my trailer plugged in at home so I've got cold water, powerade and some other goodies stocked in there. My pantry has non perishable food in it. Crackers, snack type stuff for the kids.  I'm working on building my tack up so I can just keep a bunch in there

Stackable totes in a variety of sizes. One for meds, one for boots, one for brushes/ grooming, one for blankets/ bot stuff, you get the idea :) I love them and its a great way to stay organized. I got all mine in one color and my hauling partner has hers in another so we know which one is which, not that that doesnt go out the window after like 2 days LOL 

How does everyone store their sport boots?

And does anyone have a hack on what to put behind bridles/bits so they don’t make so much noise going down the road from the metal bit hitting the metal trailer?  

I use these plastic storage drawers to store my boots and brushes and whatever else I need to keep in my trailer, I dont put the weeels on so it wont roll around. You can find them at WalMart, home depot..

Ues the carpet squares that peel and stick behind your bridles.. A few other BB's use them to I saw on another thread about trailers.

I use velcro to attach my sport boots and bell boots.

I get the big fat velcrow strips and put them on the tackroom door of the trailer. Attach all my sport boots to them. Never lose them, easy!

I have velcro strips that run along the bottom of the saddle racks, so I can put them there out of the way. Otherwise if I have a bunch in there for whatever reason I just have them in a boot bag I got ages ago 

For those that have purchased the self-adhesive Velcro strips for leg boots - did it work well and hold up over time? What brand did you purchase?

I went to home depot and got the roll that was 3" thick. I made sure I cleaned the door really good before I put the velcrow on. The Home depot Industrial stength is crazy strong. Several years and they are like new. 

I got the velcro strips at Walmart, unsure of the brand. I've been using the method for about 6 months, and I've never had a problem. All my boots stick and they never fall off. The velcro strips haven't fallen either.

I get rolls of indurstrial stength through work. I think they get it from McMaster Carr. But what I had on my last trailer came from Home Depot. 

I’m a boot junky so I have a trunk full of boots that stay in my trailer. I use the storage totes shown above, also bought one of the real skinny storage totes for my old trailer and it fit in a “dead spot” under my saddle rack and I had meds, bandaging stuff, etc in it and it was out of sight/ out of mind. My tack room had carpet on the walls so that quieted the bits banging. I had extra bridle and blanket racks. My trailer now has a smaller rear tack but I have a toolbox full of tools, tire changing block, and another box with brushes under the saddle rack in that unused space, fits perfect. Stand up water tank in front slot is a must for me, they can even be mounted under the nose horizontally in some instances but with my lq we couldn’t do that. I’ve seen people put the hangible shoe organizers that have the cloth pockets on the doors of their trailer to put boots in. 

Tried the industrial strength velcro from amazon, but in the hot Texas weather it came off after a couple of days.... tried it on the aluminum trailer and the steel trailer. Both let go.... 

I want to try the square carpet tiles, maybe I have more luck with them. And I'll wait to pit them on till it cools down. That might help them to better stick to the walls. 

Same here, everything I try to stick to my trailer it just lets go after a few days. Thats why I like those plastic storage boxes.. I just went to see the carpet tiles and they are not where I put them the heat melted the glue,

Classic Equine makes a hanging wash rack for boots with several rows of Velcro. We just hang it in the trailer and store the boots there.  It works great.  It holds a lot more boots than what the pic shows.

Guess this is what we will have to go with in the hot southern states! Thanks, didn't know they made these!
