I have always had trouble keeping my hat on during my run. It either has to be so tight that it gives me an pounding migraine or I am getting poked with bobby pins. It is frustrating and distracting. I have tried all the tricks and tips everyone has - folding down the back of the hat band, stuffing with tissue, tons of hairspray, double sided tape, everything! I hate stampede strings because I have been choked by one more than once. I know many people say to get one custom fit for your head - well not all of us can afford an expensive hat. And I sure as heck dont want to make a run in an expensive hat in case it comes off. With my luck my horse will step on it too.
Anyways... I found TTs Hat Tamer on facebook - so I took a shot and ordered one. Let me tell you.... THEY WORK!!!
It is the first time I feel like I can make a run without worrying about my hat coming off. They have a clear strap, which is very comfortable, and you can't even tell you have it on. I love mine and will be ordering another one. It is such a great idea invented by a fellow barrel racer who was also tired of losing her hat! She has a video on her facebook page that shows how they work.

I just went and looked at the site and watched a couple videos. That looks like a pretty neat deal, would have saved me $5 a couple weekends ago! I think I will consider getting one, I don't like to have a stampede string, I look like a dork with one. I like the fact that it is a clear strap and that you don't have extra strap hanging down like a stampede.
