I've put this off long enough..... I need to insure a couple of my horses.

I've never insured one before because have heard some companies fight EVERY claim and it's a huge pain to get paid back. Stories that they have to send one of their own vets out to determine if euthanasia is warranted (and waiting with an emergency doesn't sound fair).

My question is, what companies have YOU dealt with for claims and you would highly recommend? Or companies I should steer clear of?

I have mine insured through Broadstone Equine Insurance. They represent several companies.  Mine are insured through Hartford. I recently had a major medical claim, they paid, no questions asked.
