| All you really need to pay attention to is the GCVWR ( Gross combined vehicle weight rating) of your truck. Most Dodge and Ford 350 Duallys come in right at 30,000 pounds GCVWR. THis means truck AND trailer together have that combined limit. My 2019 Ford F350 Diesel has a 14,400 weight rating for ITSELF and my 4 horse LQ has a 16,000 pouind rating. My Trucks GCVWR is 31,500. So My rig, fully loaded is 30,400 just under the limit. In my state ( CA, and most other states) you need a CDL for any trailer over 10,000 or COMBINED 26,001. So I do have my commercial drivers license to satisfy that requirement and INSURANCE. If you get into a wreck, your fault or not and your under licenssed, not good. | |

Boo hoo. | Ford F-250; Sundowner Charter SE 2-horse straight load bumper pull As an older person, I prefer staying in hotels rather than the hassle of setting up a LQ. I also enjoy having a smaller rig so I can stop wherever I wish to stop for gas or to eat -- not just truck stops.

You need a CDL for anything over 26,001 lbs. You need a health card for anything over 10,001 lbs.
