Hello! I am in the proccess of buying a horse that is eligible for futuritys in 2022. What are the ins and outs of futurities? Are they worth it? What does it do for horse/rider? Anything and everything would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Be prepared to spend alot of money on training & entries. If your sending your horse to a trainer, be careful with who you choose.

Entries are expensive so plan ahead to budget and save for them.  Competition is tough but theres good money to be won so its worth the gamble if you have a really nice horse.  I havent done a ton of them but advice I am really sticking to is to not get in over your head on deadlines and making shows...do what your horse is ready for even if it means having to late enter a few.  What it does for the horse is boost earnings and validate the resume of your horse.  It can increase their value and the value of their siblings and dam.  If it works out well and they win that is.  And if you do well and want to be a professional, winning at that level will help with business.
