I had no idea that the media called the race for Biden and victory speeches delivered until I got home yesterday afternoon.  The victory speeches are a bit early you would think.  I am not saying premature just early.  There are possibly 4 states, maybe 5 looking at recounts.  Georgia has already announced it will do a recount once the results are certified Friday.  The electors vote on 12-14 and the house & Senate count the votes 01-06-2021. 

There is a concern about faithless electors playing a part in this election more than any other time in history.  The media jumping out there and the victory speeches start an intended perception of who the clear winner should be.

As far as uniting us, if you look at Twitter after the media called the race, there is no desire for unity.  Michelle Obama is hoping through this loss we will empathize with their pain of the last 4 years.  What pain?  I have yet to get an answer from anyone on that question other than he is a racist, he calls people names.  Really?  I along with many of my friends and many of my colleagues suffered through 8 years of Obama's policies.  I couldn't stand the man but if he had accomplished what Trump has he would have easily earned my respect.

If Biden is declared the winner on 01-06 I will give him my support just as I initially did with Obama.  However based on his and Harris's record of "achievements" I think the midterms will be telling.  Hopeful on the redistricting as well.

ush v. Gore, 531 U.S. 98 (2000), was a decision of the United States Supreme Court on December 12, 2000, that settled a recount dispute in Florida's 2000 presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore.

Earlier, on December 8, the Florida Supreme Court, by a vote of four to three, ordered a statewide recount of all undervotes, over 61,000 ballots that the vote tabulation machines had missed. The Bush campaign immediately asked the U.S. Supreme Court to stay the decision and halt the recount. Justice Antonin Scalia, convinced that all the manual recounts being performed in Florida's counties were illegitimate, urged his colleagues to grant the stay immediately.^[1] On December 9, the five conservative justices on the Court granted the stay for Bush, with Scalia citing "irreparable harm" that could befall Bush, as the recounts would cast "a needless and unjustified cloud" over Bush's legitimacy. In dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote that "counting every legally cast vote cannot constitute irreparable harm."^[1] Oral arguments were scheduled for December 11.

In a per curiam decision, the Court first ruled 7–2 (Justices Stevens and Ginsburg dissenting), strictly on equal protection grounds, that the recount be stopped. Specifically, the use of different standards of counting in different counties violated the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution. (The case had also been argued on the basis of Article II jurisdictional grounds, which found favor with only Justices Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and William Rehnquist.) Second, the Court ruled 5–4 against the remedy, proposed by Justices Stephen Breyer and David Souter, of sending the case back to Florida to complete the recount using a uniform statewide standard before the scheduled December 18 meeting of Florida's electors in Tallahassee.^[1] The majority held that no alternative method could be established within the discretionary December 12 “safe harbor” deadline set by Title 3 of the United States Code (3 U.S.C.), § 5, which the Florida Supreme Court had stated that the Florida Legislature intended to meet.^[2] That deadline arrived two hours after the release of the Court's decision. The Court, stating that not meeting the "safe harbor" deadline would therefore violate the Florida Election Code, rejected an extension of the deadline.

The Supreme Court decision allowed the previous vote certification made by Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris to stand for George W. Bush, who thereby won Florida's 25 electoral votes. Florida's votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, one more than the 270 required to win the Electoral College. This meant the defeat of Democratic candidate Al Gore, who won 267 electoral votes (but actually received only 266, as a "faithless elector" from the District of Columbia abstained from voting).

Media organizations^[3][4][5] later analyzed the ballots and found that, under any considered criteria, the originally pursued, limited county-based recounts would have confirmed a Bush victory, whereas a state-wide recount would have revealed a Gore victory. The two Senate races in Georgia is going to be tough.  The film industry has brought in big money for the left and has raised a good bit for the runoffs.

If we do hold the Senate expect Biden to become the next FDR on executive orders.

Biden said he will work with the governors to get requirements in place.  If they refuse to work with him he will go to the Mayors and county officials to put them in place.

Chuck Schumer handed us a gift on the Senate race in Georgia (2 seats).  He announced like a freaking raving lunatic yesterday in a crowd on the street that Dems need to push forward and win Georgia so they could "change America."  He was like a madman.

I'm with Mike Huckabee.  I like America.  Don't particulary want it changed.  Let's hope Georgians feel the same way.  I think they do.

Let's hope so but Georgia has been slowly trending toward blue since they passed the tax credits to the film industry.  This is what you get when you court Hollywood.  Thank goodness the current governor is trying to cut those incentives but maybe a little too late.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Abram's and her Cape become the next governor of Georgia.

The govenor of Kansas mandated mask wearing back in June. Only she really didn't didn't have the authority to do that. All but 5 Ks counties opted out of the govenors mask mandate and other provisions
